Self-styled faith healer axes woman to death in Handwara, held | KNO

Handwara, Apr 26 (KNO): A self-styled faith healer was arrested after he axed a woman to death in Handwara village of north Kashmir's Kupwara district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a man, identified as Ghulam Rasool Shah @ Lass Bab, accused of killing a woman to death at Chogul area of Handwara was arrested. Shah, a self-styled faith healer attacked the woman with an axe, following which she was moved to Handwara hospital, where from she was referred to Srinagar hospital. However, the lady succumbed to her injuries; the official said and identified the deceased as Aatiqa Begum of Magam, Handwara. Meanwhile, soon after the incident, the accused was arrested by the police while the weapon used in the commission of crime was also recovered. A case in this regard has been registered in a local police station here in Handwara and further investigation related to the matter has been taken up, the official added—(KNO)
